Teeth in a Day – Full-Arch Dental Implants in Thornbury & Bristol
Teeth in a Day is full-arch dental implant treatment for people who have lost most or all of their teeth in one jaw, or whose remaining teeth cannot be saved. Four implants are typically placed in the lower jaw and six in the upper jaw, at digitally planned angles to minimise tissue disruption and avoid nerves and sinuses. A custom-made, non-removable bridge of up to 12 teeth is then attached, so you can leave with a full set of fixed teeth within 24 hours, provided your jawbone is strong enough. This approach is sometimes referred to as All-on-4 or All-on-6. Treatment is carried out at our practice in Thornbury, just north of Bristol, by our implant surgeons Laurie Stumper and Dr Pav Narwal.
The Three Stages of the Same-Day Teeth Procedure
The journey to achieving a complete smile restoration begins with meticulous planning and preparation. In the first stage of the Same Day Teeth procedure, we utilise advanced digital technology to create a comprehensive 3D image of your jaw. This cutting-edge imaging allows us to visualise your oral anatomy in great detail, enhancing both the safety and precision of the entire process. By constructing a detailed 3D model, we can simulate the surgery ‘virtually’ and carefully plan the positions of the implants and replacement teeth. This pre-surgical planning enables us to tailor the procedure to your specific needs, ensuring optimal placement and alignment of the implants. Additionally, we take precise impressions of your mouth and a bite registration, which are used to fabricate the replacement teeth before the actual surgery.
The second stage of the Same Day Teeth procedure involves the surgical placement of the titanium implants into the jawbone. These implants serve as durable, artificial tooth roots that provide a stable foundation for your new teeth. Once the implants are securely positioned, we attach the pre-fabricated teeth to them. This allows you to leave the clinic with a fully functional set of temporary implant-supported teeth on the same day as the procedure. These temporary teeth are designed to be long-lasting and provide immediate functionality and aesthetics, giving you a restored smile and enabling you to resume your daily activities with confidence.
Following the initial fitting, we conduct a thorough review to ensure that the replacement teeth are correctly positioned and provide a comfortable fit. During this stage, we assess whether any adjustments or a replacement bridge might be needed in the longer term. We also provide guidance on proper oral hygiene practices and schedule follow-up appointments to monitor the progress and address any concerns that may arise.

Suitability depends on the volume and quality of your jawbone, which is assessed with a CBCT 3D scan at your consultation. If same-day fitting is not right for you, other implant options may still be available.
